If you intend to buy your significant other a brand-new engagement ring in the near future, you’re going to have a difficult time getting it right if you do not know their ring size. Instead of hoping and praying that you guess it right – you never will – you should take steps to learn your better half’s ring size instead.
But how would you go about figuring this out?
It may seem difficult on the surface, but believe it or not it’s going to be a lot easier than you may have initially thought.
So follow the guidelines that we are about to share with you today and you should have no problem figuring out your better half’s ring size so that you can finally buy the beautiful engagement ring that you’ve had your eye on for a while.
Ask Friends and Relatives If They Know the Answer
Before we get into any specific methods, there’s no point driving yourself crazy trying to figure out how to get the ring size secretly when somebody else may already know this information.
There’s a very good chance that your significant other’s mother may have this information already available for you. And if not her mom, you could always ask her dad to see if he can lend a helping hand.
Now, it may be tough if you’re trying to keep it secret from them as well, so I actually recommend you ignore this method if you’re trying to keep this a secret from everyone.
But if that’s not the case, then you should definitely start asking people that may know the answer. Because there’s no point driving yourself absolutely crazy for no reason if somebody else can help you get the information that you need to buy a beautiful engagement ring, no matter which color you choose.
Measure Her Ring Finger While She’s Sleeping
This might be easier said than done, but it’s definitely possible if you have a strong desire to find out the ring size without her knowing.
Now, this might seem a little unorthodox, but you could always spend the night with her and make certain that she’s had enough drinks that she isn’t going to wake up when you measure her ring finger!
A simple way to do this is to cut off a thin strip of paper, wrap it around her finger – and make sure you pick her ring finger – and then mark off the spot where the paper meets with a pen or pencil.
After that, measure the strip of paper to find out how long it is.
If the paper is 1 13/16 inches, she has a size 4 ring finger. If the paper measures that one and 1516 inches, she has a size 5 ring finger. If it measures at 2 1/16 inches, she has a size 6 ring finger. If her ring finger is 2 1/8 inches, it’s a size 7. And it’s a size 8 if it’s a 2 ¼ inches strip of paper.
For sizes 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, and 14, I highly recommend looking at a ring sizing chart to get the correct answer.
All in all, it should be pretty easy to get your significant other’s ring finger measurements if you follow the guidelines shared today. Once you figure out the size, you can move on to designing your ring. That’s the fun part!
